Actress and stand-up comedian Celeste Ntuli is among celebrities who have taken a stand against the xenophobia they believe has inspired the looting of foreign-owned shops in Gauteng.

Ntuli and other celebrities like Nkanyiso Bhengu and Black Coffee are supporting the #Say no Xenophobia campaign that is gaining popularity on social networks.

The Isibaya star posted an open letter on Instagram where she said black people suffered from "mental slavery".

She says black people need to read, learn and travel to understand things better.

Ntuli says the same people who loot the spaza shops of Somalis and Pakistani nationals support shops owned by Italians and Germans without any problems.

She says foreigners were not taking anyone's job because many South Africans are "lazy".

She also says some people were complaining about unemployment while they did not have a matric certificate.

"As soon as a foreigner has dark skin, they are taking our jobs. Many of our brothers don't want to work and spend most of their time making babies," she alleges.

Bhengu is also against what is happening in the country.

He says "Africa belongs to everyone who lives in it" and South Africa was part of it.

"We need to stop hating each other because we are all Africans. The attacks on other Africans is wrong. The whole continent supported the struggle against apartheid," Bhengu says.

Black Coffee, who is in the US, posted a picture on Instagram where he urges South Africans to work together as Africans.
