Pastor claims T-shirts with his image heal the sick

Controversial pastor Dr Hamilton Nala, who claims to heal HIV/Aids through his "faith water", also has T-shirts to protect and heal.

And not only T-shirts but a number of items, said Nala, who is from Durban and has been a preacher for 23 years.

"I have T-shirts that people wear to get healed. I also have miracle towels, faith honey, faith juice and miracle pens."

Speaking to Sowetan from his newly opened branch at Funda Centre in Soweto, Nala challenged health officials, including Minister Aaron Motsoaledi, to come and witness miracles at his church.

Nala, founder of the Rebirth Family Centre Church, claimed he had found a cure for the Aids pandemic in 2013.

He maintained that his faith water can heal many ailments, including HIV/Aids. He claimed to have healed about 100 people to date.

"These are people who started using the water after they were declared HIV-positive by doctors," he said.

"After using the water, their status changed to negative."

Nala further said that, as someone who believed in God, it was an insult to insinuate that God cannot heal ailments, including HIV/Aids.

The water can also treat diabetes, blood pressure, cure the deaf, help those who cannot walk and improve school pass rates, he claimed.

He refused to disclose where the water comes from or where it is packaged.

A small bottle of the water costs R15, while a bigger one costs R30.

Nala said that in 2008 God gave him "an extraordinary power to heal people of all the ailments using faith water", and that anything branded with his image will heal.

The Rebirth Family Centre Church has 10 branches and shops in KwaZulu-Natal and Mpumalanga.

Nala works with a team of 10 pastors.
