Thandeka returns to 'Isibaya'

After her sudden departure from Isibaya, actress and television personality Nomzamo Mbatha has crawled back to the soapie.

ho plays Thandeka Zungu, left early last year when her character was beginning to excite viewers "to pursue other interests".

However, it was reported that Mbatha had left because she wanted more money.

After leaving Isibaya, she was involved in a couple of projects including acting in local film Tell Me Sweet Something with Maps Maponyane, and she travelled and presented the reality showHoliday Swap KZN.

The 24-year-old has confirmed her return to the Mzansi Magic soapie, but denied she left because she wanted to be paid more.

She said her departure was not about money but her career growth.

"I know about those rumours, but I have never left because of the issue of money. For me, it was never about money."

In the soapie, she left to go overseas with her husband Sbu (played by Sdumo Mtshali).

She believes her return will be more anticipated by the viewers curious about how Thandeka and Sbu's marriage worked out.

Mbatha said she was looking forward to rejoining the Isibaya family and to be part of the storyline.

"I am looking forward to playing Thandeka again and viewers have been yearning to see Thandeka being reunited with her father."

Mbatha will also appear in Umlilo on e.tv in March.

She has vowed never to leave Isibaya again.
