ELITE crime-fighting unit the Hawks led a joint operation that raided "Venda Porn king" Zwoluga Madega's business, among other shops in his office complex, in Thohoyandou yesterday.

The Hawks were working in conjunction with Limpopo provincial police and home affairs officials when they pounced on several businesses in the Thohoyandou CBD in search of counterfeit goods and undocumented immigrants.

A man selling Madega's DVDs outside the premises was arrested but later released after he led police to his boss.

The team found Madega, whose sought-after Bush Pie #3 porn DVD was recently classified by the Film and Publication Board, hard at work burning copies of his self-produced comedy flicks on his computers.

They left empty handed after Madega produced documents to prove his work was legitimate. No porn DVDs were found.

Madega told Sowetan he was happy police were doing their best to get rid of counterfeit goods.

Police spokesman Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi said fake goods like branded clothing that suspiciously cost less, were confiscated, with their total value estimated at R600000.
