MATLALA Mokoko is unrepentant since being fired from her position as Miss SA 2014 second runner-up on Monday.

Mokoko lost her national title after she was crowned Miss Mamelodi Sundowns at the weekend, in contravention of the rules of Miss SA.

The 23-year-old says she was "deeply saddened" by the way the matter was handled by the Miss SA organisers.

Mokoko's Miss Sundowns pageant win earned her R2-million worth of prizes including R300000 in cash and a new car. The beauty queen says she is unmoved by her title loss.

Mokoko's prize for finishing third in Miss SA was R7500 Africology spa treatment vouchers.

"As far as I know I lose only the title and I have no regrets," she said yesterday when asked whether she stood to lose her Miss SA second princess title.

Mokoko insists she sought permission before entering Miss Sundowns. "I asked for permission from the Miss SA team to sign the contract with Mamelodi Sundowns. That contract has not been signed or concluded yet, therefore I have not breached any contract."

Mokoko, who has provincial netball colours said she decided to compete in the Premier Soccer League club's pageant because it advocated what she believed in.

"My passion for sports, youth development and education resonates in the work that the Motsepe Foundation aims to achieve. Any young lady who shares these views, has a fair chance," says Mokoko.

The beauty, who hails from Limpopo, says she received a congratulatory phone call from Miss SA organisers two days after her win and she was read the riot act informing her that she will no longer have obligations to the Miss South Africa pageant.

"I was made aware of the exact clause I was alleged to have breached, of which I had not and still have not breached" she emphasises.

"I wanted to be part of an organisation that cares for South Africans which advocates unity through sports, education, women empowerment and poverty alleviation.
