Monster Ugandan nanny speaks out: 'I was beaten too'

"Arnella was lucky, she did not bleed, but I bled," said Jolly Tumuhirwe after being arrested for beating and torturing baby Arnella.

Jolly Tumuhiirwe's charge sheet has been amended to attempted murder which attracts a maximum sentence of life imprisonment on conviction. She is currently at Luzira prison and will be produced on December 08, 2014 at Nakawa Magistrates Court.

After only 26 days on the job, Jolly Tumuhirwe was caught on camera beating 18-month-old Arnella.

Arnella's father, Eric Kamanzi had installed a spy cam which was reviewed after he noticed bruising on his daughter.

According to Uganda Online, Eric had only seen Arnella being slapped on the video before he went home and beat Tumuhiirwe and suggest that the 22-year-old helper would have sustained worse injuries had Eric seen the entire 10 hour video.

In the picture above Tumuhiirwe is showing police evidence of blood on her t-shirt. However, at this point she was unaware that she had been recorded by a spy cam.

The Inspector General of Police(IGP) has requested that all domestic workers have certificates of good conduct before employment and added that in order to get a helper, you must also have a police letter stating where the helper is from.

All domestic workers are now required to be registered as well.

Arnella is recovering and reportedly doing well.
