Former allies EFF leader Julius Malema and Sports Minister Fikile Mbalula took their rivalry to the twitter streets yesterday.

A ‘twar’ erupted between the two after the sports minister saw a photo of  Louis Vuitton belt worn by the EFF leader during his appearance at the High Court in Polokwane.

“Consistency must be portrayed by leaders, dont have double personalities "poor" yet you're drowning in Branded clothes like Malema,” Mbalula tweeted.

This irked Malema who responded by asking the Minister: “Who paid for ur 40th birthday?” adding that ‘dirty money’ had been used to pay for the party.

“If we where to tell a story of where you get some of your money people will be shocked”, Malema tweeted.

The ‘twar’ went downhill from then on as supporters of both leaders entered the fray.

Although filled with allegations of corruption and hypocrisy, the war of words did contain some funny elements like when then Minister decided to reference the 1984 American martial arts movie.
