EFF urges road safety over Easter

The Economic Freedom Fighters on Wednesday urged people to exercise road safety during the Easter long weekend.

"Let us all travel safely on the roads, avoid drinking and driving at all costs, including driving when tired," said spokesman Mbuyiseni Ndlozi.

The party called on people to remember the reason for the season.

"This is a time when all Christians remember the gift of salvation through Christ whom God has given to all who believe," said Ndlozi.

He said people should epitomise the values of Jesus Christ during Easter.

"It is a time when the values that the life of Jesus epitomised are remembered and to have a relationship with the one above is to embrace these values."

He also called for guidance in the upcoming general election.

"As part of this remembrance through prayer and fellowship, we ask for guidance, peace... and fairness in the 2014 general elections."
