A 10-year-old school boy was killed when he was hit by a taxi in Pinetown, KwaZulu-Natal on Tuesday morning, paramedics said.
"Reports from the scene indicate that the child was on his way to school. He got out of a taxi and ran across the road when he landed in front of another taxi," said Netcare911 spokesman Chris Botha in a statement.
The accident happened on the M13 west bound around 7.15am.
"Paramedics arrived at the scene and found him lying unresponsive on the roadway. After they examined him it was found that he had tragically died due to the extensive injuries that he sustained," said Botha.
