A South African woman was arrested for the possession of drugs in Thailand, the department of international relations said on Sunday.
The woman was arrested on Thursday, spokesman Nelson Kgwete said.
"Officials from the South African Embassy will meet with her tomorrow [Monday] to verify her citizenship and get more information on the incident," said Kgwete.
He said that no further information was available.
