Oscar trial: Footage of Reeva and Oscar shown

CCTV footage of Oscar Pistorius and Reeva Steenkamp kissing in a garage shop was screened in his murder trial in the High Court in Pretoria on Tuesday.

In the jerky colour footage of February 4, 2013, Steenkamp, with her hair in a pony tail, is seen choosing food from a fridge, while Pistorius walks close to her.

Roux told the court this was screened previously on Sky news.

She was shot dead by Pistorius on February 14 last year. He said he thought there was an intruder in his bathroom when he fired four shots, killing her.

Steenkamp's mother June, in the front row of the court and next to the large screen on which it was shown, held her head down and then was hugged by a friend as she cried.

Roux asked for permission to show the footage, after prosecutor Gerrie Nel objected saying he did not know what was going to be shown.

Roux wanted to show the court that "more than 90 percent" of their WhatsApp messages were of a loving nature.

On Monday, police data analyst Francois Moller read a WhatsApp message from Steenkamp where she expressed concern over an incident at a friend's engagement party which she said was caused by him and made them leave early.

On Tuesday, Roux honed in on kisses and terms of endearment such as "Boo" they sent each other over WhatsApp. Messages from Pistorius read "My Angel are you safe? and "Good morning my angel I hope you slept well."

Pistorius has been charged with the premeditated murder of Steenkamp and of contravening the Firearms Control Act.

He allegedly fired a shot from a Glock pistol under a table at a Johannesburg restaurant in January 2013.

On September 30, 2012, he allegedly fired a shot through the open sunroof of a car with his 9mm pistol while driving with friends in Modderfontein.

He pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
