A former ANN7 senior editor has signed a book deal with a South African publisher to tell the story of his three months employment at the TV station, The Mail & Guardian reported on Friday.

The title of Rajesh Sundaram's book "Indentured" is expected to be on sale before Christmas, the newspaper reported.

The cover of Sundaram's book would feature the controversial work permit he was granted to travel from India to take up his position at ANN7, which is owned by Infinity Media.

Infinity is co-owned by Oakbay Investments, which belongs to the Gupta family.

Sundaram quit ANN7 in August and has claimed he was chased off the premises by a Gupta family bodyguard.

When he returned to India, he wrote a complaint to the home affairs department regarding the permits he and other ANN7 staff sourced from India received.

There was alleged abuse to get Indian workers intra-company transfer and business visas, and that some were issued with tourist visas.

Home affairs department spokesman Ronnie Mamoepa said Sundaram's claims were being probed.

ANN7 spokesman Nazeem Howa, the chief executive of Infinity Media, denied the allegations.
