The DA will head to the Pretoria High Court on Wednesday to continue fighting for the release of the so-called Zuma spy tapes.
"The DA will request that the....court compel the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) to hand over documents and tapes that the Supreme Court of Appeal (SCA) found the DA was entitled to," party spokesman Ryno Geldenhuys said in a statement on Tuesday.
The tapes are recordings of intercepted phone conversations, which the Democratic Alliance believes will shed light on the dropped fraud and corruption charges against President Jacob Zuma.
The recordings formed the basis for a decision in 2009 by then acting NPA head Mokotedi Mpshe to drop the charges.
In March 2012, the Supreme Court of Appeal gave the NPA 14 days to produce the documents.
"It is extraordinary that the DA is even required to ask a court to compel the NPA to abide by an order of the SCA," Geldenhuys said.
The DA had argued that the tapes were given to the NPA by the National Intelligence Agency, rather than by Zuma's legal team. As such, the party believes the documents are not privileged information.
Zuma's lawyer Kemp J Kemp contends this has no bearing on the matter.
