RENOWNED radio and television presenter Vuyo Mbuli, who died on Saturday after a pulmonary embolism, will have a special official funeral on Friday.

Thebe Mohatle, spokesman for Gauteng premier Nomvula Mokonyane, said this means the flag will be flown at half-mast at government buildings on Friday, and Mbuli will be buried at West Park Cemetery in Johannesburg where national heroes are buried.

"Members of the South African Police Service and some cabinet ministers will be present," Mohatle said

Mbuli, 46, collapsed at the Bloemfontein Stadium during a Super Rugby match between the Cheetahs and the Reds. He was rushed to hospital where he was declared dead.
