Hilton Botha, former lead detective in the Oscar Pistorius murder case has resigned from the SAPS, EWN reports

Botha was facing seven charges of attempted murder and was then removed from the Pistorius case. Senior investigator,  LT General Vinesh Moonoo had since then replaced Botha.

He and two other officers were arrested a year ago after shooting at a minibus taxi carrying passengers.

Police spokesperson Neville Malila said, “We can confirm that he tendered in his resignation yesterday [Wednesday] but the reasons are confidential.”
