NPA will argue premeditated murder against Pistorius

The State intends charging paralympian Oscar Pistorius with pre-meditated murder after the death of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, the Pretoria Magistrate's Court heard on Friday.

"Is the State's argument pre-meditated murder?" asked Magistrate Desmond Nair asked.

"Yes," said prosecutor advocate Gerrie Nel.

Pretoria magistrate postpones Pistorius hearing to 19 February 2013. Pistorius to remain in custody.

Pistorius was arrested on Thursday after Steenkamp was shot dead in his home, at the Silver Woods Country Estate in Pretoria, on Valentine's Day.
