'SARS applies to have Malema sequestrated'

According to court papers, Malema owes Sars R16 million and is "factually insolvent and in no position to make payment of his indebtedness to Sars".

The SA Revenue Service (Sars) has filed papers in the High Court in Pretoria to have expelled African National Congress Youth League president Julius Malema sequestrated.

According to court papers, Malema owes Sars R16 million and is "factually insolvent and in no position to make payment of his indebtedness to Sars".

Malema and his lawyers would decide on Thursday whether to oppose the application.

If the application succeeded or was unopposed, all Malema's properties --including his house in Sandton, and his house, smallholding and farm in Limpopo -- would be placed under curatorship and auctioned to cover his debts.

City Press reported that, according to the court documents, SARS had rejected an offer by Malema to borrow R4m to settle his outstanding taxes until 2011, because of inconsistencies in his representations.

In its papers, Sars reportedly stated that discrepancies in Malema's representation of his net assets were not conducive to concluding that he had made a full and frank disclosure, and supported its contention that "it would be to the benefit of Malema's creditors to sequestrate his estate".

Malema had until February 18 to notify SARS whether he intended opposing the application, City Press reported.

The hearing was scheduled for February 27.

Cyborico, they did not talk to him because they needed him to make a lot of noise. Then, when they did not need him anymore, and he turned his noise to them, they did this to him.

Ow! Mr Malema, you've been telling us you have nothing to hide. We believe you. This thing in the press must be a cover-up, perhaps that English reporter you threw out at one of your meetings. Maybe he was a guest of Guptas who doesn't think well of you.
Now you will have no garden boy and no farm to sell your cabbages. but don't worry my friend, they say the food is quite good in prison and also, those people in prison are very friendly and very loving, especially when the wardens go to sleep. You will enjoy yorself to bits, but please don't tell any reporter they should nationalize the prisons. It would kill the entertainment.
By the way, the bunker you were building at your new home... was it similar to Zuma's? Were you going to arm it with anti-tank missles

dont kick the man bro he is already below the surface, let him be.

Cyborico.."speaking fish in wales"... Hehe. Must be that's what skwama sometimes speaks too. I can often smell it right from here.

Skwama, honestly now, if ever I am to go overseas, I'd want to see Wales, Scotland and most importantly Ireland. I'm just jealous.

You are on point Shredder, and both of us, at risk of being accused of being Malema sympathisers by the ppl who continue to fail to see the anc is fighting its political enemies using public resources, that in itself is abuse of power and is corrupt, this is why for its impossible to respect these guys.

Wales u say? any good trout stream there boet? want to visit Seycheles but i heard some flyfishers speaking fish in wales so i was not sure if its salt water fishing or fresh water(trout)?
It depends with ones you on about, 2-legged ones with breasts (only joking) or river ones. Scotland is famed for them, I was visiting a fellow S.African living in Oban (western scotland) and he took me trout-fishing (river ones) and whisky tasting. I ended up in the river because drunkeness and fishing dont mix, oh, and my salmon went missing
