Prosecutor caught taking a bribe

Over an unlicensed firearm

A Pretoria prosecutor has appeared in the city’s magistrate’s court for allegedly soliciting a R4000 bribe, Gauteng police said on Wednesday.

Libaman Dlova was allegedly paid to have a case of possession of an unlicenced firearm thrown out of court, Captain Paul Ramaloko said.

He had apparently been receiving the outstanding amount for his service when he was arrested.

Dlova was released on R2000 bail during an appearance in court on Friday, on a charge of corruption. Police released the information on Wednesday.

The matter was postponed to March 5.
