'Jealousy, murders and robberies'

A man who is said to be one of the most wanted criminals in Eastern Pondoland will appear in court tomorrow facing a range of serious charges

The 31-year-old man was arrested last week after he allegedly killed a man and his girlfriend in what police believe was an act of jealousy.

After killing the two, the man reportedly pulled their naked bodies outside and put the man on top of the woman in a sexually suggestive position.

The man was later arrested for the killing but Port St Johns police spokesman Captain Mduduzi Godlwana said the man also faced other charges in various towns in the Eastern Cape.

This includes a robbery case in Queenstown where the alleged robbers reportedly got away with R1-million; close to six murders in Flagstaff and escaping while in court late last year.

Godlwana said the man was arrested with a 9mm pistol and an R5 rifle linked to him was discovered this week.

“He will appear in court in connection with a lot of charges. He has been one of the most wanted men.

“Most of the murders linked to him were committed after he escaped from court,” said Godlwana.

“In another murder, he allegedly killed a granny and her husband,” said Godlwana.

He added that the man was also a suspect in the disappearance of his girlfriend who is believed to have died.
