IFEANYI Jones, the father of a six-month-old toddler who had been kidnapped, allegedly by his tenants, vowed not to ever again lease out the rooms in his Bezuidenhout Valley, Johannesburg, house.

Jones and his wife, Khanyisile, beamed happily after they had been reunited with their son, Revelation, who was kidnapped on Tuesday.

Jones said at Jeppe police station last night: "I will never lease out my rooms again. I have learnt my lesson".

The couple had endured a two traumatic days.

Holding and constantly kissing the child, Khanyisile said: "We could not sleep. We fell asleep only at 4.30am on Wednesday. Today we were pacing up and down the house and could not do anything."

The police yesterday arrested the couple's tenants after receiving a tip-off from the public.

A couple, believed to be Pakistanis, had allegedly kidnapped the child after failing to pay the R3,000 monthly rent.

They had allegedly demanded R100,000 ransom from the Joneses.

In the ordeal, the throat of Revelation's nanny, Kanda, was slit and she was left for dead. She is currently in a critical condition in hospital.

Police spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Lungelo Dlamini said the couple was expected to appear in the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court soon to face charges of kidnapping and attempted murder.
