why do they need to take over well run hospital? but then when it comes to anc they always break down what works, look what they did with teachers colleges and look now the end results of that.
So now we can take it in our stride that the next SAn asset to be brought to its knees are gov hospitals in the second term of Zuma's presidency, ja neh *shaking head* Report Abuse

And yet, the WCape hospital (The province with the best run medical care in South Africa), is also being earmarked for expropriation by the ANC...

What annoys me about the Kopane statement is that if the taxpayer is footing the bill for all hospitals, then they all should be under state control, irrespective of their location. But what annoys me about the ANC is they deregulated the running of state properties to provinces and are now spitefully demanding they should be run directly from Tshwane. The Govt should be concentration of converting all hospitals into University academic Hospitals, instead of playing politics with people's lives

oldlady12- I have no problem with hospitals run from Pretoria or at provincial level. The Nats ran ALL hospitals from Pretoria, then the clever-clogs ANC decided to deregulate and have them run provincially. What is wrong with the current system?? they still get the budget fron central govt, but run regionally. If the govt decide to convert the administration and services as jointly run with academia, the private sector will also get involved, thereby funding latest machinery and technology and as well as installing technicians for efficiency. Not to forget the training of our next generation of medical staff. If you live here in the UK, you'd be shocked how many South Africans work and study in the National Health Service, when you ask them why they left, they tell you the Nats ran hospitals better than the current govt. That's an indictment to the ANC govt Report Abuse

The minister is right whether that particular hospital is ta Western Cape or not should be under Pretoria administartion as such too all citizens of this country will benefit from them and not certain individual colour like in Western Cape that is why they do not want those hospitals to be under administration of Pretoria, they are not DA assets as that guy is saying that ANC should look only at its provinces it is governing, nonses ANC is ruling the whole country and not a certain part of the country so if it takes decissoins it will be for the entire country including Western Cape.

Funny how Addington, which can't even supply sheets to the wards that are currently open (and about half of the wards in the hospital are not being used due to lack of staff and funds) is not on the list for KZN. It's a disgrace. We even had a bunch of hotels club together and offering old sheets for use - and the hospital didn't know what to do with them so rejected the offer. Well run? Or not run at all ...
