Hehehehehe. The man really has no clue about women. I perm my hair to curl it, and I've spent what must amount to years in the sun to get darker, and I'm well aware that i won't turn into a black by doing it. These cosmetic changes us women do, is for us, because that's what we want to do with our money we work for, and has nothing to do with culture. And dear Mr Prez, how can you even talk about humanity when you say don't take your animals to vets when they're sick, and don't take them for walks to keep them healthy? Really now. I think his speech writer must be on leave. How can this man represent what is supposed to be a non racial organisation when he keeps making such ridiculous racist statements? Someone, please tell me he was misquoted.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I was wondering what made him make such silly remarks - this is the most probable reason. I was driving through Rosettenville yesterday and noticed that there were many salons advertising braids and weaves - but the people in the streets all still looked black. The presidents formula to turn white is not working.

Pointman, then you were driving through my valley yesterday. Did you also happen to notice the many abandoned dogs roaming the streets? Is that then the "black" way? To let dogs run the streets to bite innocent children, because the "white" way is to keep them safely in your yard, and if you take them for walks, to have them on a leash.

Phuphethakatha, your herdboy comment...so right. What my white history teaches me is that when my forefathers came to Africa, they found the black man to be compassionate towards all animals, and in tune with nature, killing only what he needs to eat, never taking more from the land than what he needs to survive. My history says that is was actually my forefathers who came here to plunder animals, hunting large numbers with guns for trophies, and letting the meat rot in the killing fields. Now Zuma is saying that caring for animals is a white thing, and not African? Which history is then the right history?

BTW Zuma for your education, as part my social responsibility, do you really want to know why many African black children aspire to be white, even bleaching their skins and straightening their hairs? its cause white is associated with success and progress, its a fact though when you have to think about white run continent, the ppl have access to the basics, the children have all basic to high school education, and its the white donors who are keeping our continent alive, its the white run countries where scores of political and sexually persecuted refugees run to, ask guys in the horn of Africa as Lybia is used as transit country to Europe by every African refugee. Whilst you and many rich blacks in your gov use tax payers money to buy women and collect them to decorate your harems. a black child in Africa looks up the white donors who deliver and supply aid in the continent for their survival, even the Netherlands King who had skiing accident, he was some of the poverty stricken African countries before his accident to open a school he built for the children in that country, him and his wife, so how can black children not aspire to be white if that gives them hope?

Honey that has nothing to do with being white. That was around long before the white man set foot here and it has to do with being 'rich'. It is the same as the indian caste system and just as old.

If you were a labourer in the fields, you were in the sun and got dark. If you were the wife of a 'rich' man then you stayed in the house and were lighter. That is eons old.

@Garentini, as I said Europe (and the West) symbolises hope to many in Africa, that's why they risk their lives on makeshift boats sailing to europe. To your leaders it symbolises SUPERIORITY, hence all they have to show their success is Western products, check my friend what they drive, check labels of their suits even they shop in Europe and the USA (for weddings of their children and their luxuries )in order to show you the plebs how superior their can be at your expense of cause, lol for you are paying for these luxuries you know?

They tell you that West is bad (and you foolishly believe them) but they are forever in bed with the West, they will NEVER take major decisions without discussing such and get input from the West, and you want to brandish them as leaders? leaders who can't even taken a decision or have original idea which can implemented and help improve life of many Africans?

Oh did you know their wives get plastic surgery (for their luxury) in the West as well, lol the West is boss my friend, the sooner you realise this the better for your sanity:-)

swallowing pills for an erection does not mean you want to look like anyone, you just wana enjoy cookie better, not sure which cream you are talking about, african women generally have short curly hair, they go out of their way to make it longer, and straighter, it if fails, they try the stick on, like hair bought from India in the case of Beyonce, or plastic in the case of Zodwa.......and they wana look like certain people.

KTKT, but that is your own personal choice. Let's look at it this way. Hair is made to grow. Now you go cutting yours to keep it short. Is that because you want to look like someone else? No. It is because it is how you prefer it. You are allowed to wear your hair the way you prefer it. Now allow other people the same right. For a prez to tell a country's women, each with their own ideas on how they like things, that they are wrong, is ridiculous. For a prez to basically tell people not to take care of their animals is even more ridiculous. No seriously KTKT, rather make some excuse up for the man, and tell us he was misquoted, than to protect him in this way.

Oldie you're trying to robbe me,if you cut your hair short it stays the same ,our sisters today they make hair implant because when extend your hair where the natural one ends you can see and where the plastic one starts you can even seen.

@Madimetsha the erection is fake as hair extension, you see women wear hair extensions to get volume and give impression that they have fuller/longer hair, men take pills to give themselves a fake erection. All that I am saying is that all is fair in love and war, this fake war each of us indulge in every now and then, so Zuma has no business telling women not to fake it when all his wives wear fake hairs with exception of Makhumalo whom I respect.
************************************************************************************************
you are missing the point, extensions are about image which is believed to be superior to that of your own.which means you want to look like people who were born with straight and longer hair,....it has nothing to do with showing a fuller hair or whatever that is suppose to mean..why cant they wear one that looks exactly like African hair, why must it always be straightened out?..I never spoke about make-up, which I personally hate.

I hate to burst your bubble but people who are nasty to animals are usually psychopaths who are going to be nasty to humans too. After warning that black South Africans were losing respect for tribal chiefs by becoming “too clever”, President Jacob Zuma has vowed to fight cleverness in all its forms. “I will not rest on my leopard tails until I have rid myself, my family, the ANC and all South Africa of cleverness,” he said, before retreating to his intellect-proof bunker in Nkandla.

Zuma stunned South Africa on the weekend by telling traditional chiefs in Parliament that some blacks were getting “too clever”, apparently not a reference to his education policies, which have made a total of zero South Africans more clever.

This morning South Africa’s clever blacks reacted with shock and disgust, saying that they were embarrassed to be represented to the world by a man “who makes Mitt Romney look like a radical feminist intellectual”.

However, Zuma has defended his statements, saying that cleverness was a major threat to democracy in South Africa.

“Cleverness puts ideas in people’s heads, and before you know it they are asking where their tax money goes, and then you have anarchy,” said Zuma.

He urged black citizens to be on the lookout for the first symptoms of cleverness in their communities.

“It starts with a creeping suspicion that Late Iron Age customs might not be appropriate for the 21st Century,” explained Zuma. “It then escalates until your children are forming their own opinions, instead of asking their local chief to form them.”

Meanwhile, Zuma has defended the large crowd of ANC supporters that kept a DA march away from his Nkandla compound on the weekend.

“We salute those brave cadres who are ready to lay down their lives to prevent cleverness from reaching our modest home,” he said, adding that he was not angry but instead pitied Helen Zille.

“Deep down, in her woman’s heart, Helen knows that she should have been at home, warming her husband’s slippers, instead of marching,” he said. “It is so sad that instead of being true to her purpose in life, that is, becoming the fourth wife of a man, having babies, and then becoming invisible, she has chosen to learn how to read and in so doing, becoming terminally infected with cleverness.”

He said that it was “tragically inevitable” that clever blacks would gravitate towards her, “because they also like wearing jeans and doing similarly provocative things to flaunt their cleverness, like thinking”.

But, he said, he and the ANC would triumph. “Non-cleverness shall prevail! Liberation before contemplation! Riches before reason! Thuggery before thought! Amandla!”

If black ladies do not want to be seen as white, why are they putting extensions, brazilian hair and so on? What? Hair extensions are not white and Brazilians are not white either though the extension might have been manufactured and designed by whites just like your under pants, condoms, etc. Based on your boring and senseless comment, I guess you are a product of Angie Motshega and Limpopo's failed education system. I can't believe this ignorant person actually said these things. Since when does it mean that if a woman wanted to take care of herself and her body and make herself attractive, she wants to be white? Since when is it "not right" for a woman to be single? Since when is owning a pet, loving it and taking care of it is not in a black man's culture? They say you can tell the heart of a man by the way he treats his animals. I find this speech reeks of double standards, racism and a slap in the face of women everywhere. Please tell us, Mr Zuma if you abhor the white culture so much, why are you living the life? Why don't you go back to your African culture and African roots and don your animal skins. Give your fancy cars and mansions to your brothers who appreciate advancement in life and go back to your mud hut and donkey cart. Give your cellphones, laptops and all your technology to the young generation of Africans who are not living in the past and move on. Remember, wheelchairs and lawnmowers are also part of this evil white culture.

@Kusheshe, the only ppl who are supporting Zuma have same values, morals as him, McCauley is white version of Zuma, thankfully for white SAns they are not religiously indoctrinated ie they don't need/use church as much as black folk do so they can completely cut off any association or influence of ppl like McCauley in their communities. Unfortunately for majority of us as we are indoctrinated into believing that we should question authority even when that authority doesn't bother to disguise his being devious, such as that mboro person and pastor Zuma here,it is only us black ppl who can call these ppl leaders and even spiritual leaders I put that down to indoctrination of not questioning authority, authority which is manipulated and abuse to our disadvantage. Anyway worse is still to come, as the post Manguang pirates are now set to silence the voice of the youth, Zuma said the youth will be dealt with, I wonder who is next on the line after they successfully silence the youth or re-indoctrinate and brainwashed them into surrendering their future to them for squandermentation.

We used to think that Juju was not smart but Zuma superceeds that, he has to outdo everyone in everything NEGATIVE within the anc, even there was corruption under both Madiba and TM, but both leaders were not behaving as if its a normal thing to be corrupt, ie they were not arrogant about being corrupt and demanded respect for being corrupt in fact they never stand on the podium and demanded respect from their subjects. When critics were leveled at them they took them on their stride in TM's case he sought to make his views know to all by his weekly writing on that news letter published on anc's website, Madiba was humble, everyone felt they had to give him respect on the basis of his humbleness,uZuma is just an arrogant corrupt fool who is always putting his spokesperson in conflict with the public as he has to clarify his BS comments, I don't think which is most offensive ie, his singing or comments.../

@Kusheshe I for one stopped taking anc serious when they carried out a bloodless coup without due care to the stability of the country economy and otherwise and present us this dumbo as a president whose only claim to presidency is abusing his blackmailing material against his peers incl Madiba to become president, we must never forget how he told anc leaders (Madiba was still active at the time) that if goes to jail (for armdeal scandal) he will take the whole lot down with him, immediately after that Madiba endorsed his presidency and for that Madiba was rewarded with Winnie ministerial position and Mandla's 2 salaries as chief and minister, it goes to show that anc is an organisation of corrupt individuals who have taken our country to ransom and treating tax payers as if they were their piggy banks, question is what does Zuma have over the entire anc leadership that they succumbed after the threat about armsdealscandal, that is what I am interested to know, and how many of them are involved and how far are they involved ie did they personally benefit?

I fully agree there, even Cheryl Cole is a big fan. These creams have been banned in Europe in the 90s, as they contain a harmful chemical called Hydroqinone and some also contain traces of HCL. Its like using DDT on your face. JZ's other comments about women needing to have babies, its not only prehistoric, but also shows why most Zulu men are neanderthals (and I am Zulu as well, semi-neanderthal, though). @Naaiman Zuma is not doing anything or setting aside for benefit of anyone, more than he is trying to make himself relevant, unfortunately for him he choses bad/tasteless topics which don't contribute to nation building, or like him did you think attacking white SAns about everything perceived to be wrong in black communities is going to help us with nation building? Zuma is a black version of Verwoerd is playing on the racial disharmony for his political advantage, Verwoerd used 'swaartgevaar' to keep his subjects completely under his thumb Zuma today is using witgevaar but he is not smart to make his accusations stick, instead is earning himself ridicule for being a political dumbo of this century, cause most African black women especially, laugh about him and his idiotic remarks, other african intellectuals see him as Africa's regression, they feel sad for us SAns for allowing this to happen.

BTW somebody please tell Zuma his politics are so outdated, even Americans are now adopting politics of HOPE instead of politics of fear, cause everyone now using information easily available and accessible is wondering what is that the leaders want to protect us from? and those searching hard enough they know that these leaders like Zuma pushing politics of fear (of a boogeyman/terrorists etc) are only using this to keep us distracted from what we should be asking to deliver to us as part of their mandate.

Zuma's hold on ANC is simply hidden in the dungeons of secrets of the struggle! Has anyone ever asked if these stalwarts underwent counseling when ANC was unbanned? Look at the divisions of ANC... How m any people have come out to say this isnt the ANC they know? And how many more are quick to descend with violence on them defending zuma? Ba tsebelana batho ba! A crocodile knows a hippo because they both live under water where no one sees what they do and they still live on land where they want to be seen in good light. Zuma and his enemies within ANC are hippos and crocodiles. I've always asked gore how was it possible for a 27 year prison confined man who came out of prison looking more frail than Oliver tambo who was fit and healthy, yet the man in prison was elected president and not Oliver tambo who marched in 1966 together with Luthuli detachment to fight against sandf, zdf. Oliver tambo marched and crossed Zambezi river with Chris Hani as commander. Next thing ANC is unbanned and the prison lot becomes an alliance against the lot that did live in exile? Walter was in prison with Mandela akere? Masisulu meanwhile formed UDF akere? Leadership ya ANC in 1994 was more UDF-robben island aligned than the exiled!! Once you start from there, you can go deep to uncover the rot of sabotage in the ANC. Then you can start asking gore ke nnete OR na lwala naa or was he poisoned so someone could take his presidency as the preferred popular statesman??

@ Garanteni,

I was enlightened when reading a book umkhonto we size by thula bopela and daluxolo Luthuli... I was intrigued by its subheading; FIGHTING FOR A DIVIDED PEOPLE. it was then that I realised this ANC which people are proud to be breastfed from is a monster that we must be very afraid of. The only way we can defeat it is by voting a credible party for all races. As much as we can refer to our past history's dubulibunu moments, let's face it, do we have any alternative liberation movement that we can vote in power? I don't think so? And secondly, in this age we are living in, do we still need liberation movements? Can we honestly say there is presently a party that can represent south Africans on race, creed and language without casting aspersions of sinister tactics that we may feel its ok to ignore only to regret later? Or better yet? Are we truly ready for a multiracial party that represents our interests?

And just what do they want parliamentary procedures and robust homes with lightning conductors for?
We got along for thousands of years without motor-cars, cell ‘phones, flat screen TVs - indeed we don’t even need the SABC.

And not to mention tarmac roads, universities, medical research and expensive whiskies.

Away with tampons, eye-glasses, fashion apparel, and all forms of electronic devices!

Close the airports, harbours, scrap the railways - they only a blot on the landscape anyway!

A cleft stick or talking-drums was good enough for my great, great grand father - none of this internet nonsense required - we be sooooo much better off without these accoutrements!

What this group decided was accepted by men, and it was this group who would guide and teach the younger generation. No man would have dared to disagree with anything this group of women decided.
