A MAN has been duped out of an undisclosed amount of money by a person impersonating a bank official in Kimberley, Northern Cape police said

"A neatly dressed woman, who impersonated bank officials, offered to help the man deposit his money since the queue was full," said Lieutenant Olebogeng Tawana. The incident happened on Saturday.

The man gave his money to the woman, who went into an office in the bank.

When the woman did not return, the man alerted bank officials.

Tawana said police were investigating a case of theft.

No arrests have been made.
