Shot fired at ANC member

A North West ANC member was shot at outside his home in Mmabatho on Friday morning, police said.

Lt Col Sabata Mokgwabone said the man was about to open the gate to his home at 3am when the shots were fired by an unknown attacker.

He was not injured.  

According to reports on Friday morning, he was North West ANC secretary Kabelo Mataboge.  

Provincial ANC spokesman Kenny Morolong was not immediately available for comment.

A case of attempted murder is being investigated.  

The North West ANC provincial nomination conference is scheduled to take place later on Friday.
