Sometimes I honestly believe in destiny, this is how the little girl was supposed to go and there is nothing you could have done about it, so I truly feel sorry for the whole family, sometimes things happen that we really did not expect and here is very little you can do to avoid the situation, RIP...

this is a bad thing to happen to any parent but I believe that if he applied the K53 checks before driving he would have avoided this kind of a thing. It looks stupid when you do it and have been driving for years but in this case it would have saved a life. And this is not the 1st story I hear of someone driving over a kid who was under the car playing or crawling through.

My heart honestly bleeds for him - I can only imagine the horror of facing the reality that as a parent it was you that contributed to the demise of your own child! RIP lil angel!!

But I know two year olds, man!! You give them an instruction and they hear it but still proceed with what they want to do - vigilance is needed when dealing with them - ensure that they are exactly where they need to be before driving out!

My Neighbour in Protea Glen did the same thing 2 years ago, poor little girl just followed the Father to the Car happily wanting to go with Dady and then Bang!!!!!!!!!!!!!. We learn lessons from this things, let us be more carefull each time we pull out our vehicles, slowly and gentle, check first if there is nothing under the car, cat, dog or something.

Rest in Peace Dady's Girlie

Heard nothing???? Ai that's unbelievable... it's impossible to drive over something and not feel anything, I think even if the guy was driving a tractor he would have felt a bump or something.

He might have not done that on purpose, but this statement is unbelievable. "He heard nothing and was only informed later that the little girl had been hit in the driveway". How could you not hear or should I say feel that the car is driving over something of that size?

This is my nytmare also, my 3year old daughter always follows me to the car when I go out @tyms I don't even see her, but I always do check my mirrors. Us as fathers must teach our selves that daughters are always favouring us *Sorry mums* and we must be on the lookout for them when leaving the house.
What happened here is a tragedy that is we must all learn something from... let the kid be at peace where she is!!!!!

Papage, that is why when you learn to drive or go for the drivers license you do a pre-trip inspection. That thing is being done for a reason to check if kids, animals or any other objects could lying underneath the car. How many of you do a pre-trip inspection? Raise you hands?

Like @kef said, it is always wise to check thh rear of the car if there are small kids in the house or complex.

@Mr Bones, you can check your mirrors but you cannot see a two year old standing/kneeling on the rear (near boot) of the car

Kids will always follow you to the car and they even come running towards the car as you drive in, so we have to be alert and careful at all times.

BUT I'm still puzzled about the fact that the Dad heard nothing, maybe someone else did it (like uBen10 of the Mom)

MrBones, s'true that little girls are daddy's girls. It's the way it should be. One of my favourite ad is the one of the nightguard father singing to his little girl over the phone. Some cell phone ad. If only all fathers can realise what precious gifts their little daughters are.

it was bound to happen. the girl's time on earth was over. its not an easy thing to accept and it becomes more painful when someone gets involved. could have been better if the girl was killed by diarrhea or some illness. that way the parents could find some ease but this way someone will always feel like he was the reason for the death even though it was God's will. may the family find some acceptance and forgiveness and let the girl Rest in Peace

To Nastadamas, Kef, Mntwana7, Shredder, Yoyo85 and any other people that are arrogant and selfrightious enough to feel that they are in a position to judge anyone, let alone anyone they do not know or where they do not know the circumstances or situation, these poor parents, who are amazing parents, live on a farm in a area without cell phone reception and where the ground is rough and rocky.
So that is why he heard it on the radio, two way radio not FM, and that is why he would not feel or hear it as the ground is to rocky. I sincerely hope that you lot will never have to go through the hell that these poor young parents and the grans are going through only to be judged by ignorant morons such as yourselves.
