One person has died while three others were injured in an accident on the Garsfontein Road, Pretoria east, this afternoon, paramedics said. 

Reports from the scene indicate that a cement truck overturned and landed onto two vehicles.

"Netcare 911 and other paramedics and emergency services arrived at the scene and found that one person tragically died due to the extensive injuries sustained, two others were seriously injured and a female driver escaped with minor injuries.

"Paramedics from various services stabilized the injured on scene before transporting them to a local hospital for the care that they required," Netcare said in a statement.

This cement trucks has tendency of landing on another car when they overturn, exactly the same accident happened in Woodmead where a female driver who worked as messenger for certain company died.

You must see how these cement truck drivers drive, my goodness.

If our government was pro active they would reduce the speed on these monsters some with eight wheels at the back.

Exactely my everyday fear when i started driving -big trucks!!
This trucks drivers know that they cannot be injured as such and they speed the way they want and sometimes they just overtake where they are not suppose to.

In all fairness, the truck drivers in Pretoria are normally quite good. It is the other drivers who are a menace. It takes a lot to stop a heavily loaded truck and you have these fools who zip in front of them and then brake hard.

I wonder where it was in Garstfontein Road? I imagine it is down the highway side where the never ending roadworks live
