Who are the transgressors, those who expect people to live on the money they give their girl child to entertain their boyfriend s on one weekend or those who rightfully demand to be paid a fair living wage mhhh

tman, I'd say the ones who give their children more pocket money than they give their workers pay are transgressors, and the ones who destroy and kil.l in order to have their demands met are transgressors. Another Ghandi would have been the solution now.

Robin and Antie, since your forefathers left you two with ill gotten riches and land they possessed through a barrel of a gun, my guess is in your lives, you have never lived on 80 per day

So they kill the farmers, burn down the fields, destroy property, destroy machinery and once the the smoke is over, then what?

I can't wait to see the back of 2012. Never has there been so much violence and bloodshed. Even during apartheid, I don't remember it being this hectic. What the hell is wrong with our country?

tman, If you read my comments on the other articles pertaining to this subject, you would know that I think R 80.00 per day is daylight robbery, and these workers deserve R 150.00 per day. Don't just jump to conclusions, it's very tiring and unproductive exercise. That still does not give the strikers the right to destroy. It makes them just as guilty as their bosses. Which land is that my forefathers left me? I am tired of paying rent.

antie it shows what you know about them, nothing! The R80 they get is only what they call the "Clear" pay, they get housing free water lighting and maintenance and they only pay 25% of their electricity bills. They get what we call "cost to company" of more than R150 already but now they burn and kill because of Cosatu and ANC making the western cape ungovernable! The ANC is going to far in the western cape they don't care about the workers!

As you appear to be sane and graced with an education other than that offered by the current criminal regime, please could you answer the following...who is responsible for setting the legislated minimum wage for farmworkers?

Exactly my friend...but can I also add that the ones causing all the destruction and disruption are not the permanent workers from that region but mainly seasonal workers who are either migrant labourers or locals who are habitually uninterested in working on a permanent basis (i.e drunks/lazy). Therefore why should they benefit any more than the minimum wage anc/cosatu have stipulated - surely in life you get out what you put in?????

This is just cheap anc politicking and a wanton attempt to destabalise the only province that is attempting to increase the quality of life for all its inhabitants...DESTROY - it is one of the very very few things, besides blatant theft, that the pathetic anc are able to do correctly and efficiently. Time for change - down with anc corruption, incompetence and violence!!
