This is just emotionally disturbing. How long should such killings of women and children happen in South Africa before this government becomes tougher with rapists and murderes??????

President,MECs,Premiers and other high ranking officials have bodyguards,their properties guarded by private security companies and son on. The best they could to protect South African citizens and foreign visitors/workers inside our borders is to be bring back death penalty. I don't buy this argument that death penalty will not deter criminals. It might not totally wipe away crime, but it decrease violent contact crimes dramatically.

The main thing is we cannot separate this event the political situation in our country.I still maintain the ANC government should carry the blame here.
Koster is one of the poor and under developed rural areas in the country.There are no recreational facilities in that area.There are no health care facilities,and if there is any clinic ,it will not be easily accessable.So you can imagine what happens in an area where alcohol and drug abuse is the only recreation.There are so many taverns and shebeens and people engage in unprotected alcohol induced sexual intercourse.Children at an early of 13 -15 are lured by men in engaging in sexual activities.Some of the kids are orphans whom their parents died of AIDS.Men exploit the situation and promise these kids money,hence we see so many rapes and killing of children in this area.So many icidents went unreported.
Lack of employment is the other main reasons,people resort to finding the easiest ways of getting money,hence increased levels of crime.
These children are not reporting the rapes because of lack of protection from the police and society.,they are afraid of the perpetrators.Corruption in the police force is another reason the children do not report these cases,because the perpetrators are known to be friends to the poilce.The stigmatization of rape is also another reasons these children do not report these cases ,they end being the victims of circumstances as is always the case in this country that women invited being raped by wearing miniskirts.

Yes in my immediate family, there are no 15 year olds with boyfriends/girlfriends. I have a 16 year old niece, who has never been on a date nor have dated. She knows who pays the bills and what is good for her... We lay the rules not the other way round......... democracy is at the Union Building/Cons. Court not in our household.

She does have friends (female) and they sometimes go to movies.......... one thing I can tell you is that she gets chaperoned at all times.......
