Another of the suspects was spotted by police walking on the N3 highway, covered in blood

A 28-year-old man has been arrested for the murder of his cleric father, Free State police said.

“He was arrested after a lengthy interrogation by the police,” spokesman Sergeant Mmako Mophiring said.

The 60-year-old clergyman and his future son-in-law were killed at their home on Thursday night.

The cleric was in the living room with his wife, son, and daughter’s fiance when three intruders entered the house.

The assailants locked the reverend’s son in the bathroom. He was not hurt.

The daughter’s 25-year-old fiance was shot in the head and died at the scene.

The reverend was wounded and taken to hospital. He died on Friday morning.

His 59-year-old wife was taken to hospital, but her condition wasn't known.

The cleric’s son will appear in the Harrismith Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

A man spotted by police walking on the N3 highway and covered in blood was arrested on Friday.

He was found in possession of five cellphones and a firearm. One of the cellphones belonged to a member of the family.

The man is also set to appear in the same court on Monday.

Jirrie but the level of journalism in SA is abysmal.
If the son was locked in the bedroom then how did he shoot his father? Was it a different son or did he get out and shoot him or did he arrange to have them shot? Give us a clue here

@Tasto_

Sound like movie I once saw of a preacher whose adopted son impgregnated the daughter, killed the pastor's son and later killed both the daughter and the wife.

Yerr, truly demons are masquerading as human beings. People are too quick to dismiss the bible as a myth, opt to believe mysticism and REASON of which the devil is behind. But many of tough questions cannot be answered by human beings or science while the bible is clear in many things and solutions to our human problems. I thought Roger Morneaux - The trip to the supernatural would help many people but with atheistic french and german including greek philosophers influencing people against God.

Material for a juicy court session. How does the son get arrested? Corruption and inequity, destruction all around us. Only fear rules. But then again, I can turn around insensitively and ask why the Church minister's God did not protect or warn him from all that scheet? Science and engineering will design and gun that will be used to shoot "the daughter's 25-year-old fiancé" in the head. Religion - the only thing stopping the poor from snuffing the life out of the rich and noble.
