Principal in court over school pupil rapes

A KwaZulu-Natal school principal accused of raping 11 of his students has appeared in the Scottburgh Magistrate’s Court

Captain Thulani Zwane said the case was postponed to November 12.

“He will remain in custody until then,” said Zwane.

The 44-year-old was arrested at his school in Umkomaas on Monday after the girls told police that he had raped them in his office.

Police had been at the school to speak to pupils about their rights and had highlighted sexual abuse.
