Convicted murderer wins sentence appeal

The life sentence imposed on a man convicted of beating an elderly Centurion nurse to death in 2003 has been commuted on appeal to 16 years, it was reported.

so you mean the court should warn the buzzard about the sentence everyday didn't he know that murder could carry such sentence? , was he not represented at all? ki ll ing defenseless people because of his background he is going to get lesser sentence what does that mean? so if i was abused then i'm excused to do whatever please thats BS

This is utter Bull$hit, are these guys actually aware that such rulings will always serve as reference for future cases......now all/future prisoners on life sentence have found a loophole.........We truly are F@*&ed in this country of ours!!!

Mmm, served 8 of a 16 yr sentence, so he can now get parole any moment. This is what a life is worth in SA right now. Free on a technicality.
