i guess then there is no harm in unrdressing a grown man in public? i suspect that cosatu are confessing to this because it was done infront of the photographers and there were photos taken to prove this otherwise the ussuall " our memebers were not involved" statement would have been repeated.

Spot on. What a foolish statement. I guess his own interpretation of harm is when a person is dead or injured. The drama continues.

COSATU should stop selling the mine workers this has been going on for far too long since the dawn of democracy it should be pointed out that the so called tripartite alliance is an evil creature in the mining industry and to workers at large they claim to represent the workers but kissing the Lonmin management behind close doors that is nonsense the mine workers should have the right to choose their own independent labour federation this has been a ticking bomb and now it has exploded now Vavi and his croonies are running like a headless chickens they must now know South Africans are not fooolish

These idiots have no idea of democracy, freedom of choice, human rights. It does no thelp if their leaders are too weak to speak up and reprimand them unconditionally, and educate them about these things. They claim all sorts of rights for themselves but deny people who don't agree with them the same rights. Sickening.

Disgraceful. Barbaric. Are these people's parents proud of their children's behaviour? What has happened to basic morals, and respect for others? These people are shaming black people everywhere.

cosatu is a useless gangster organisation without any direction, some of their members are holligans, they have now met their match in the form of rising gangster group called Amcu, now whenever this gangs meet there is war. no discipline, lack of morals. for years whenever cosatu affiliated unions go on strike chaos ensues, people lose their lives. Vavi and other union leaders must be charged for war crimes and crimes against humanity for the 2006 security strike

".....it must me pointed out that he was not harmed", are you kidding???? You have harmed his dignity, his humanity and his pride.

Well done to the police for using rubber bullets. Who knows what kind of harm you would have caused?

I would've thought that criminal cases of assault and crimen injuria would've been laid against the perpetrators by now ?????

Why not???

"Cosatu criticised the police for using rubber bullets to disperse striking Anglo American Platinum workers at the rally."

What the Hell! Very well then, use live ammo. Rubber bullets just bounces around and confuse people, so shoot and let them feel the warmth of their blood flowing for the cause. What is a strike or protest? Do one usually arm oneself with weapons to attack others? I guess the police were in the right to protect themselves from the hostile crowd who had bad intentions to hurt or kill to satisify their lust of demands. Whatever happened to the word 'request'?
Racial issues will never die in South Africa. Blacks fear Whites, although their lifestyle was far more secured than what it is today.
