The Daily Voice reported that the Cape Town man, 43, believed to be a drug addict, was arrested on Thursday on charges of animal cruelty and violating the Animal Protection Act.

The National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (NSPCA) said it was one of the worst cases it had seen.

"When I spoke to him he told me: I slit the puppy's throat, skinned it and braaied it and I ate it," NSPCA inspector Peter Eccles said.

"He said he read it somewhere that the SPCA said it was OK and I explained to him that it was not."

According to the newspaper, an adult dog and her six puppies were found in the man's shack and rescued.

Provincial police confirmed the man's arrest and said he "instantly admitted" to the crime.

Except for Chinines and others, but no one in his normal mind can eat a dog, this shows that some people in SA are very poor and yet our government is doing nothing about all they care is them , them and them.

why aren't they arresting those that kill chickens, sheep and cattle and those who are shooting them its also cruel mos they must let the guy free he was trying to have a lekker braai and didn't have money to buy the "normal" meat and remembered he actual have an animal and can make a braai out of it so what?
