A Cape Town investment manager was found murdered in his holiday home

The Cape Times reported that Alexander Otten, 53, was found dead at his ransacked holiday home near Velddrif on Saturday.

Otten, owner of Northstar Asset Management, had his hands and feet tied and a plastic bag over his head.

He also had a head wound.

Police spokesman Warrant Officer November Filander said the motive for murder was linked to the robbery of his household goods.

According to the report, investigators found footprints at the back of the lodge, Vlamink Vlei A, leading to the beach.

Two suspects, aged 22 and 26, were arrested in St Helena Bay on Monday and will appear in the Vredenburg Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.

Imagine if you really believed that this was not a hit. Owner of an investment company dies in his holiday home? In a recessionary environment? Someone didn't get their money back and hired a few disposables to do the job.
