Constable Moses Molepo said the 48-year-old man had impregnated the girl.  

“One family member discovered that the minor is pregnant and alerted the police. After serious interrogation she revealed she had been raped by the suspect,” said Molepo.

The girl told police that the alleged rape started last year.

She said her father would rape her while the mother was out at family gatherings.  

Medical examinations on the girl confirmed that she had been raped and was pregnant.  

The man was arrested on Friday on a charge of rape. He is expected to appear in the Mankweng Magistrate’s Court today (Monday).
