MOLEMO "Jub Jub" Maarohanye was one of the child presenters on M-Net's KTV before moving to Jam Alley and Channel O.

He also appeared in several commercials and feature films, including Lunar Cop, Drive By, Full Court Press and Hijack Stories.

His albums include The Rare Breed, My Shine and Fresh Air. He also performed the Cup anthem, Ke Nako (Sesotho for It's Time) at the 2010 Fifa Soccer World.

He was the first South African to land a scholarship at the renowned Fame School - La Guardia High School for the Performing Arts in New York's Manhattan, where he completed high school.

He was also nominated for a Crown Gospel Music Award for Ndikhokhele. His mother, Jackey, also known as Mama Jackey, ran the infamous Ithuteng Trust School in Pimville, Soweto.

Last year Maarohanye was accused of beating up his girlfriend, Kelly Khumalo.

The pair, who have a two-year-old son, have had a rocky relationship and are reportedly living apart.

Khumalo did not answer her phone yesterday. Her manager, Sarah Setlaelo, said Khumalo would not comment on the Jub Jub verdict.
