BLOEMFONTEIN HIGH Court Judge Albert Kruger yesterday began his 600-page judgment in the case of former Mangaung municipality mayor Papi Mokoena, his wife Granny, and others.
The Mokoenas and their nine co-accused have pleaded not guilty to 259 charges including fraud, racketeering, theft and money laundering between 2000 and 2005, estimated at about R170-million.
The six companies also charged with the accused are Nontsapho Construction, Koena Food, Crystal Cave Trading 516, R and B Bed & Breakfast, Sinako Property and Juto Marketing.
The judgment continues.
