Where as the two convicts drove into pedestrians and it was proven in a court of law that they were drag racing on a public road, they were under the influence and one was overtaking at high speeds on a curve with a solid line. I feel sorry for both families of the victims and the accused. I do not know how SA justice operate but I feel they should have been convicted of manslaughter instead of murder. According to the interpretation of the letter of the law, murder is an intent to kill and I doubt that if these two went out there with the intention to kill. They were so foolish, they should have known better that their actions were likely to cause injury or death but I still doubt if that can be regarded as murder. May God give comfort to the families of the affected and transform these two boys to be better people in prison. Anyway, who I am to question the justice system of another country? If this will bring relief to the victims' families so LET IT BE.
I think their lawyers had done nothing but to chow their money if they couldn't fight off the murder charges to homicide/manslaughter. Is murder not intentionaly killing someone?.

The murder charge sentence is 25 years in its least form. Now when it is in multiplicity, there is a hell to pay to get less than 15 years even if the charges were to be commuted. Themba Tshabalala and Jub Jub are quite arrogant and inconsiderate in their actions. Their behaviour is quite dismissive and makes people angry because they do not want to accept liability for killing the innocent learners.
They rudely went ahead to plead not guilty, wasting state resources with such a prolonged court case. So Tshabalala should not come up with a remorse act now, if he was remorseful he would have accepted liability. Jub Jub is worse, he still expects to go free and continue with his reckless life without any punishment for his crimes. I feel sorry for both families of the victims and the accused. I do not know how SA justice operate but I feel they should have been convicted of manslaughter instead of murder. According to the interpretation of the letter of the law, murder is an intent to kill and I doubt that if these two went out there with the intention to kill. They were so foolish, they should have known better that their actions were likely to cause injury or death but I still doubt if that can be regarded as murder. May God give comfort to the families of the affected and transform these two boys to be better people in prison. Anyway, who I am to question the justice system of another country? What about the 4 lives you took and two more lives that you and your co-accused have ruined? What about their families and what they have lost? Jub Jub and Themba needed to get better lawyers. Expensive but worth the money. I think they should have tried to prove that they didn't forsee that their behavior would have ended in the way it did. The murder charge sentence is 25 years in its least form. Now when it is in multiplicity, there is a hell to pay to get less than 15 years even if the charges were to be commuted. The families would have to sell all to the last spoon to get a lawyer who can achieve less than 15 stretches.Report Abuse

Themba Tshabalala and Jub Jub are quite arrogant and inconsiderate in their actions. Their behaviour is quite dismissive and makes people angry because they do not want to accept liability for killing the innocent learners.They rudely went ahead to plead not guilty, wasting state resources with such a prolonged court case. So Tshabalala should not come up with a remorse act now, if he was remorseful he would have accepted liability. Jub Jub is worse, he still expects to go free and continue with his reckless life without any punishment for his crimes. These boys are SICK and they should just shut up and go to jail, and appealing the verdict will add an insult to the families of the victims. *disgusted*
