That's a lot of money, it just made me to think, how many proper RDP houses could have been built for the real needy of this country? and what does the government do? they spend it on "Le Good life", just to think of it, how many schools could have been built or could have been improved, and equeped with labs, Library and Computer centers? Ja we realy have to condemn this behaviour, even if they did it by the book, but such spending is ridiculous. it's an insult to many of us who have the interest of this country at heart, who want to see this country getting better for everyone, all young people getting the top class education they deserve and creating jobs and imparting skills to the people of this country, but nah fun comes first to u ANC.

As long a SA Denfence has more Generals than the troops our Defence will continue to spend more on catering, entertainment and travel allowances. Duplication of work, too many chiefs without knowledge and Decisive Leadership. Always first to get pay raise, a lot of pay benefits,etc First to oppress their own subordinate. Valid statement. But unfortunately the majority will not vote DA bcos they fear the return of apartheid. They would rather suffer under anc rule than to be truly free under anyone else. I do believe the DA is the better option but Zille should step down and get someone like Dr Ramphele to lead or even Lindiwe to make it a more credible party in the eys of the majority.Although I do think Zille is an excellent leader she should do what is right to move forward.

The national must communicate with provincial and provincail with local so why do they have to go there?if they hire their local people and some one give instruction from national do inspection or visiting once a year, that will be cutting of expendituere. if you hired capable people there is no way of going to them now and then because they will be working with you towards a goal of your organisation. If is kind of urgent which the government do not know what is urgent. What about the money for entertainment while the poor does not have the water.

@DA-DBN-GUY you gave a relevant example when you receive your monthly salary you allocate as per your need,1 of government needs its travelling and accomodation then they have to allocate money for that.refer to budget principle.
DA knew about this allocation during the budget process and to complain now it doesnt give sense to me unless if they say the spent unbudgeted amount.

The reason why they are partying is because they can not see the joblessness, poverty, corruption and discrimination happening on the ground because they leave in high class and middle class areas while the people they claim to represent have been forgotten in rural and informal settlement areas. Any black person who cannot see that this country will be bankrupt in 10 years, is plain blind. We have more problems today than during Apartheid - whether we have the intelligence to see this today or not. In today's modern world, we Africans still want to resolve all issues through bloodshed (look Malema and the strikers - this problem is going to escalate out of control in 2 years time). These guys are funny man, remove those budgets from them and use it for something more permanent that will be useful for years to come!

R194 million for catering = 19 schools or a lot more teachers.
R31.7 million for entertainment = 6 clinics
R4.4 billion for travel and accommodation expenses = 4 HUGE hospitals, or a lot of medical training so we can send the Cubans home.
