'Teachers face multiple charges'

Oct 9, 2012 | Sapa | 11 comments

Provincial education departments are investigating several charges against dozens of teachers and headmasters.

These include complaints of discrimination against people with HIV, corporal punishment, sexual misconduct with pupils, and nepotism.

The Gauteng education department has had to deal with 259 disciplinary hearings since April 2012, of which 128 had been completed.

According to the department, 13 people had been fired this year, while another 35 were suspended pending investigation outcomes.

The department was also investigating 36 cases against school governing bodies, mainly involving allegations of power abuse, financial mismanagement, and incompetence.

The North West education department was investigating 46 teachers and headmasters, six administrative staff members and one office worker on charges including sexual misconduct, absenteeism, and maladministration.

In Limpopo, eight headmasters and four teachers were being investigated on similar charges.

Mpumalanga's education department failed to respond to several inquiries.

It seems everyone in SA needs retraining. From the Army, Police, taxi-drivers, TV licence drivers (all SA drivers), teachers, doctors, civils servants, Msholozi, his wives and govt ministers. A country full of paedophiles (priests, abathakathi, teachers, Msholozi, farmers), thieves and 2-legged vermins

Sexual offences in schools are caused by these young girls cos they dress in very short dresses to school which catches the eye of the teacher. Some give their bodies to the teachers to get marks so they can pass.

@Msiphos00 these teachers are paedophiles, I am not a fan of women who wear short dresses and bear-all-kind-of clothes but that doesn't give these monsters rights to sleep with our kids, no no no no!!!!!!!!
