Western union transfers are hard to trace because only info the receiver needs is the code number and password. If someone insists on being paid through Western Union then it is most likely a scam. No bad reflection on Western Union though since they provide a valuable service for money transfers to poor people and migrants. Report Abuse

The are many ways to kill a cat.
this is the other way to get tax payers money direct from their pockets
or through tenders.
@MorenaWaPolelo and RobinH - people get caught in scams because they trust and out of ignorance. Humans have to trust because human society is underpinned by trust and knowledge. Victims of scams include rich and highly educated people and also uneducated and poor people. I would not consider the former CEO of Pick and Pay a fool - and he was taken for about R50m. Pointman. I hear what you say, but the fact remains that "trust" in SA today is a highly dangerous thing. People that should be beyond reproach are cheating the country and its people 24/7. So with respect, anyone that demonstrates too much trust needs councilling. Report Abuse

Sir I disagree with you, you cannot blame the failure of applaying your brains on humanity and trust. A sane person like that PnP CE is always expeted to apply the brains educated or not failure to do so qualifies him in the category of fools Sir and education has nothing to do with this. How can a person afford to email you when everything is taken from him? Lets not make excuses for being lazy to apply our brains please!!! Report Abuse

They got his password because he clicked on a fake link in his email.
1) When ever you receive a notification email from your bank telling you that you need to update your password do not click on it.Instead call your bank to inquire if they sent you any email. If you are going to register on dating sites or social site do not use your main email address.Use a back up email that has few contacts.
2) Never click on an email from your insurance company, clothing store or any other service you use except if the email is an advert. If they ask you to enter a competition,do it at their store, never do it online.
3) Never enter personal details into online forms especially the one used to enter competitions. If you do there is a 120% chance of hackers getting your details and stealing your identity.
3) Do not use your credit cards or debit cards at restaurants ,gas stations, coffee shops or other public stores. Trust me you will get hacked. Most of these tellers and cashiers who work in the stores are on syndicates payroll.Your card will be skimmed and your details coded on to the duplicate card.If you can just do away with credit cards, they do more harm than good.
4) If you watch porn a lot ,get the latest anti virus software on your PC because a virus can be download on to your PC while you are watching a porn video.
5)Beware of unsolicited email ,when ever you receive those emails blacklist the email address and the domain it was sent from.If you don't know how to do that, Google it.Alternatively you can request for a DDos attack on the domain, this will crash the domain and make it incapable of sending emails. If you can afford it get active spam protection for your email, there are many services that offer such.
6)If you want to remove sensitive information from your computer get or maintain your surfing privacy get"IORBIT advanced system care 5" this software can permanently erase any information from your PC permanently. It also maintains your PC health to ensure that it is not vulnerable to any form of attack from hackers.
7) Be careful when you are visiting websites whose hosting servers are located in Pakistan, Russia, Ukraine,China and Egypt.Your risk of getting with such sites are extremely high.If it is a new website ,always check their whois information to see where the website servers are located.
In the IT world ,they is something called Trojans, these are sophisticated viruses which can easily penetrate PCs which are not well protected.I will recommend "AVAST" or "bit DEFENDER" anti virus softwares. These are very good anti virus softwares which are constantly updated. Report Abuse
