This is the most awful thing to do to a person. One is rendered permanently disfigured and it is extremely painful, for a very very long time. Deep tissue is destroyed and extensive reconstruction, sometimes over years, is often necessary just to repair basic functions like nose, smell, eyes. A colleague was attacked in this way by a jealous boyfriend several years ago, and she is still suffering severe pain and has to undergo regular surgery in order to slowly but surely reconstruct her face. I think is more a case of being possessive than seeking an alternative partner. it’s possible that he was even cheating on her with other women some of whom are better than her in every way but the fact that she want to leave him means he feels lesser a man so if I can’t have her then no one else should.
