The son of Democratic Alliance police spokeswoman Dianne Kohler Barnard was hijacked in Durban, the Cape Times reports.

Peter Barnard was waiting outside his mother’s home in Durban on Tuesday night when three men pulled up behind his Audi.

They put a firearm to his head, pulled him out of his car, pushed him into the property and locked the gate.

The men sped off in their red BMW and his Audi.

He was unhurt.

According to the report, Barnard co-operated with the men when he saw a firearm.

Kohler Barnard said a tracking company found the abandoned car eight kilometres away.

I feel mean but I'm kinda glad it happened to a politicians son. Maybe now there will be a bit more shouting about crime. This is the world we live in (the one without VIP security) and telling us how crime has gone down doesn't help us to cope with these things.
