Body found in freezer
Construction workers made the gruesome find, at a block of flats they were doing renovations
A decomposed body was found in a freezer in a Cape Town block of flats, the Cape Times reports.
Construction workers renovating the Senator Park building on Keerom Street, Dennemere, discovered the body on Tuesday, in a switched off freezer on the fifth floor.
Property manager Len Lowings said he thought it was “half of a sheep”.
“Police called me at 3.15pm to confirm that it was the body of a male. When I first saw it, I thought it was a half a sheep or something, not a person.”
He said the cleaning manager told the workers to dispose of the "meat", but security was called in when they spotted what looked like a sock.
It was not clear who the man was or how he got into the freezer.
A tenant who did not want to be identified told the newspaper the room’s tenant had moved out in July.
The building had long been a notorious drug and prostitution den which police often raided.
A murder docket has been opened.

Only one!? I reckon they are going to find a lot more skeletons in that closet. That place was frightening. I know of at least two youths that were kidnapped and dragged into that building and held for ransom from parents. Police were too scared to enter the building as lifts were disabled, enabling gangsters on upper floors to shoot down the stairwell at any unwanted approach.Report Abuse

It gets worse every day in Mzansi. The fact that hell holes like Senator Park can exist is proof that our policing is dysfunctional and that our communities have no civic conscience. Why do we allow such places to exist.Report Abuse
