The 27-year-old is the eldest son of Madiba and Madikizela-Mandela’s daughter, Zindzi.
The Mandela s gave Lindo the new marriage name of Nondzolo. Giving a bride a new name is part of the Xhosa culture to install her as a new family member. Her in-laws will call her by that new name.

You guys are feeding us nonsense here on this article. This boy is not a Mandela to begin with!!! Why did he assume his mother surname (Zindzi)? Did she produce this boy by herself? If not; my understanding is that in the same culture that they claim to be practising above; this boy should have be taken home and fulfil certain cultural rituals to assume the surname of his Father from who's loins he proceeded forth.

I disagree, Zondwa is/was a business partner of Khulubuse Zuma and he's not a chief or traditional leader. Our tax is untouched here and that's why there is no whining...

Zenani (Zeni) Mandela was married to Prince Thumbumuzi Dlamini and one of their sons is Prince Cedza Dlamini. NOTE: Prince Dlamini's kids are using their father's name.

Zindziswa (Zindzi) Mandela-Hlongwane, married to Mr Hlongwane and her son is Zondwa Gadaffi Mandela, her daughter Zoleka Mandela.

This looks like Mr Hlongwane is married by the Mandelas,or is Zondwa Gadaffi Mandela the son of Mr Hlongwane or Muama Gadaffi?

You're right. This boy is a Hlongwane and not a Mandela. Even the name Zondwa is a Madiba clan name. The boy was not even named by the Hlongwanes, as you say, Mr Hlongwane was married by the Mandelas. He can't even name his kids!. Gadaffi is a middle name, like others would be John, James etc. I know a few Xhosa guys whose middle names are Nyerere, Mengistu (named after African leaders)

Zoleka and Zondwa are not Hlongwane's children. Zoleka's father's surname is Seakamela and she sometimes hyphernates her surname. Zondwa is from a different father - Mbuyiselo. I believe Zindzi and Mbuyiselo had a terrible break up and I don't think he played any role in raising Zondwa. I don't see anything wrong in Zondwa using the Mandela name if the Mandelas raised him. In the african culture a child must belong somewhere and if the dad is absent, then then childrens issues are handled by the maternal side.

Also, Cedza is Muzi's son from his first wife. Zenani's children are Zaziwe, Zamaswati, Zinhle and Zondwa. I have never understood how Cedza started using the Mandela surname, it smacks of opportunism.

I realy hate it when people do cultural ceremonies in a wrong way and when it comes back to hunt them they say they are bewitched. for starters in our culture *Xhosa* the wedding is prepared by the brides parents at her place. No 2 this boy belongs to Hlongwanes as Mr Hlongwane is a biological father, No 3 how did the old man *Mandela* allowed this to happen in the first place and please mandela's stop doing this to our culture you are giving other ppl false information abt our ppl. in conclusion this is wrong they need to do things ryt otherwise this marrige wont last!!!
