More than 1,000 people, mostly youths, gathered last night in Polokwane to show their support for expelled ANC Youth League president Julius Malema ahead of his court appearance.
"A young girl from Mohlakaneng Secondary School, which Malema attended, said they were unlikely to go to school today."

It amazes me how ANC supporters will adore criminals like Zuma and Malema and all the other vermine in their party. They hold them in awe and look up to them as leaders yet these people are driving every sphere of governance into the ground. ANC supporters sacrifice their time, money, education and morality for their destructive and divisive leaders. Some hope that by changing the leaders they will change the ANC but in truth none of those in the wings have the guts to rise above the rabble that is the ANC today - they haven't to date and they won't in the future. They would rather stand by, rape the country and watch as it goes to the dogs than show any moral backbone. My goodness, with such perverted people in all strata of life in the ANC how will we ever develop SA into a place we can be proud to live in?
People who focus of the injustices that the unjust in the ANC bring upon themselves and others through their corrupt morality are perpetuating the situation. Why celebrate a wo/man who is accused of corruption and fraud when you could instead celebrate another who is uncorruptable and morally sound? Why devote your time to the riffraf (spelling?) of society when you could rather devote it to those who offer value in society? In short, why look to the ANC for answers when it is now clear that they have none? Report Abuse

It is clear to many people that Jacob Zuma is desperate to stop Julius Malema, whose political influence he could not neutralise by abusing ANC disciplinary processes. These are actions of a desperate man, who is determined to cling to the presidency of the ANC and that of the country, regardless of the fact that he has been hopeless as both leader of the ruling party and government. Never in the history of the ANC, has there been a leader of the movement so hopelessly out of depth.
The charges against Julius Malema are political. Julius Malema's Ratanang Family Trust, is said to have received 15 payments totalling R4.5m.How many ANC leaders and members have family trusts benefitting from state tenders and will the HAWKS investigate these payments? It is no secret that even members of Jacob Zuma's family have businesses and trusts benefitting from government tenders. Are the HAWKS also going to investigate some in Jacob Zuma's harem and concubines who are alleged to be doing business with government in KwaZulu-Natal and Mpumalanga? Let us not forget Jacob Zuma's lifestyle when he was fired as deputy president of the ANC. Who was funding his lifestyle and who bought the big house in Forest Town and built those rondavels in Nkandla? The ANC cannot continue to pretend that this is all kosher and hunkydory. Let us not forget union leaders whose lifestyle are above their means. How can we also forget the money that was collected by COSATU for job creation collected from poor workers before Polokwane? What happened to money that was collected by the Friends of Jacob Zuma Trust? Why are the HAWKS not investigating all these issues and just lunging after Malema? Is it because they are being politically manipulated? ANC MPs are still dragging their feet after being instructed by the Constitutional Court to come up with legislation that will make the HAWKS polically independent, after the disbandment of the Scorpions who charged Jacob Zuma. There is no doubt that state institutions are being abused to settle political scores and deal with political opponents in the runup to Mangaung. I am sitting watching Hajra Ormajee on eNCA News report on Julius Malema's appearance in court. Ormajee has been routing for Jacob Zuma all the way and is no objective journalist. Even when Sindiso Magaqxa of the Friends of the Youth League tells her that they have reliable information to show that the charges are political, as usual she chooses to tell the story from her own biased perspective. She is also trying to downplay the numbers of people who came out to support Julius Malema. It is dangerous for a journalist to be so deeply involved in the factional politics of the ANC. Whatever happened to objective and informative journalism rather than this bohemie of propaganda and jingoistic and yellow journalism from the likes of Ormajee in favour of the Zuma faction? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You really miss the point here. There is nowhere I say that everyone in the ANC is corrupt. There are enough good men and women in the ANC to take the organisation forward. First the ANC has to get rid of the Nkandla mafia. Personally, I do not mind Julius Malema being charged for fraud and corruption, if he has a case to answer. But hey man, I am not stupid, I know this case is definitely not about fraud and corruption. If that were the case Jacob Zuma would be sitting in the dock with Julius Malema. The fact that he is addressing lots of empty chairs at the UN General Assembly means that this trial is about Mangaung. But it is going to backfire and Zuma supporters will be telling us that the charges were initiated by some rogue elements in the NPA who wanted Jacob Zuma to look bad.
Should we vote for the DA? Definitely no!!!! I respect Helen Zille as a fellow human being but the DA is bad news for South Africa, even worse than the ANC. Not because it is corrupt, but because of its political agenda. If we vote for he DA we may just as well resurrect D F Malan, J G Strydom, Hendrik Verwoerd and BJ Vorster from the dead. Okay, not that the DA is that bad but that is the problem. The NP was so bad that people of colour rose up in rebellion but with the DA and their agenda which is as bad, it may well take a century to get rid of them. Rather have someone who tells you that they hate you and do not want you in their ranks because of the colour of your skin, than someone who pretends to love you when all they want is maitain the status quo. it is sad that we have people like this one in the ANC , lose cannon ill informed so called supporter I will call him a supporter not a member. I will like to recall comrade Blade saying the SACP is nt in a campaign to maximise membership just for the sake of increase membership, to be a member in the SACP is all about quality not quantity.
Julis Malemas standard seems clear benchmark to members who are corrupt as alleged instead of setting a presidency or moral standard in the movement. It goes back again to the words of Blade that the ANC has attracted chunk of members who have no quality to be members in the movement.
Julius was proven numerous occasions that he has no support in the structures of the movement, the NEC was a big test where they turned down his expulsion to be revoked, all his rants is outside the movement where he has rights like any member of the public as entitled in the Const, Zuma has no right to silence Malema , we are no longer in the days of Botha regime. Malema wil be remember as ANCYL leader who was expelled for corruption in the history of the movement.
Ormajee unfortunately is battling hard to convince someone like yourself and Magaqa that people outside the court are waiting for celebrations of Malemas downfall as happened before. Malema has no support in Limp, R100m is nt peanuts compared to R500k. Friends of Zuma Trust was declared empty long before his case was withdrawn , it was made in public Mzi Khumalo was all over making that statement nt Mzi Khumalo of Mbeki if you cant differentiate them there are two or more in KZN.
Zumas homestead fortunately is built by the state as entitled in the Const like any former heads of state eg Mbeki at Houghton and Mandela at Qunu, the problem with you is the plan of the building which is unique which makes you more jealous and angry. His relatives have no dealings with government , his house at Forest hill was bought by Vivian Reddy a business man in Durban, his trust has benefited hundreds of university students is well know, and declared in the parliament as well as all the Ministers in registry book
Let his supporters not despair he will be the next President of South African Prisoners Organisation for Human Rights (SAPOHR). He will assist carry Golden Miles Bhudu's chain. Oh! he obese, he cannot carry chains. He will use lite ropes.

-----------------------------------------
The notion that the DA will bring back apratheid is ANC propaganda. You believe it at your peril and through it you condemn SA to more of the same ANC failure. There are also other alternatives to the DA. The ANC succeeded in liberating SA from apartheid but how long does one give it to liberate us from the socio-economic ravages of apartheid. To date their policies have all failed miserably and the alternative proposed by the chorus of opposition to Zuma offers only more social and economic engineering ala apartheid, So I have to disagree with you. If ever ther was a time to discard the ANC it is now - before those who would take us down the road of anarchy get into power (the Malema camp) or thse who want the status quo take us further down the road of a failed state (the Zuma camp).
Who in the ANC has expressed a vision that doesn't fit either the Malema or the Zuma camps? They are all bound into the group think of Malema vs. Zuma and don't see alternatives beyond these bleek prospects - you included it seems. Report Abuse

Let me give you food for thought. There are people who are made for woodwork. Not everyone is made for woodwork. I used to struggle with woodwork and those table sisal mats. They were a nightmare. But guess what? Most of the guys who are good in those things hardly progressed beyond secondary school. Some of us knew that were not good in those things and focussed on Mathematics and Science and as a result got a passport to go around the world. Julius Malema wrote his UNISA exam in Political Science while going through a politically contrived disciplinary hearing but got 60%. Instead of hypocrites lambasting him on this Woodwork story, which is true, I wish the hypocrites would focus on those who dropped out of school in Standard 2, and yet want to lead the ANC and the country. In Nguni we would normally refer to someone like yourself as "umumbambathi wemililo". Loosely translated it means the one who likes down-playing the worse. You are trying your best to down play the magnitude of Malema's case. But unfortunately for you the numbers are slowly but surely coming out. That young man did not steal peanuts, he stole millions and millions of Rands. That's why he could even afford to demolish a R 3.6 million house to make way for a R 16 million house. At one stage it was rumoured he had a total of about R 84 million in his account/s, possibly including the loot from his notorious Ratanang trust.

You miss the point completely. The dire state that the ANC has driven us into through cadre deployment based on race and political patronage is the real problem. The mere fact that 99% of top ANC posts are filled by blacks doesn't make his government better or more competent, on the contrary it has failed. The issue is about competence not race. But then the ANC are now the biggest racists in SA, so I suppose its hard, if not impossible, to get your mind around this one - just like the apartheid regime supporters couldn't get their minds around the idea of political freedom without racial segregation. It is now enough for Juju, there is no need to support someone who does not make any progress in ANC. There are good leaders who formed their political parties as an opponent of the party he deserve to have his own with his supporters. President J G Zuma now must stand for himself against Julius Malema by major desciplining him because their fight is destroying ANC. We may not see it negative impact over all African people but Julius is killing, destroying and re-oppressing us Africans against DA. South Africa is for us Africans let us defend ourselves against wrong way which will lead us back to Afrikaaners (DA). Julius Malema we saying enough is enough for you. Report Abuse

My goodness, with such perverted people in all strata of life in the ANC how will we ever develop SA into a place we can be proud to live in?People who focus of the injustices that the unjust in the ANC bring upon themselves and others through their corrupt morality are perpetuating the situation.

@ProgressiveAfricanDemocratit is sad that we have people like this one in the ANC , lose cannon ill informed so called supporter I will call him a supporter not a member.

I cannot sit here and pretend that Julius Malema is a fool for getting an F in Woodwork when I am not any better. That is the scary part as far as I am concerned but hey, some people have decided to suspend reason and logic and pretend that it is OKAY. They obviously did not mind when schoolkids came out to support Jacob Zuma in his trial. And now that it is Julius Malema, the same people are behaving like Judas Iscariot who pretended to care about the poor.

In contrast, how much did Schabir Sheik spend on Zuma and his family? If you know the answer, then that's what one would refer to as peanuts. Stop twisting facts to conveniently boost your weak propaganda.

'those who live by the sword will surely die by the sword!' we watched the last years when JZ was running for the presidency as Juju was the main man of events. I remember i was a UJ student. there were many functions that would popcorn out of nowhere whereby Juju was the main speaker. Juju did as he pleased and managed to get Zuma the attention and support he could get in order for him to be the pres. Today, the same ambassador is swearing at the JZ-the boss! How nice! im actually enjoying this puppet show where two leaders really show each other who is the man! i hope we wont go back to slavery when the two had finished their tiger fights! gape they must remember that our grandparents also fought for this democracy as much as they are not publicly knownReport Abuse

Julius Malema we saying enough is enough for you.Report Abuse
