MORE than 7-million pupils in Grades 1, 6 and 9 in public schools started with the assessment of their literacy and numeracy yesterday.

" rural schools were still waiting for the delivery of test papers " - Don't hold your breath. They'll be there in two years time, after the school year. As Papage asks: Have those areas even got books yet. It's not going to be rocket science to figure that this year has been a complete waste for thousands of children. Nice work Masemola and Ma-Angie.

i'm from Limpopo and i can tell u that not all schools have recieved books. some have recieved wrong books and teachers are still expected to get the learners ready for their assessments
