Woman, child hit by wheel

A woman was injured while shielding her child from a wheel which fell off a truck in Benoni, on the East Rand,  paramedics said.

ER24 spokeswoman Vanessa Jackson said the woman and her three-year-old child were walking on the side of the road when two of truck's wheels fell off and bounced towards them.

"One of the [wheels] then collided into her hip and she suffered a bump on her head as well as scrapes on her hands," said Jackson.

The woman and her child were taken to hospital, where their conditions were reported as stable.

The truck driver was not injured.

How can he be injured while driving, the wheel fell on the street, not on the head of the truck, sorry Mama, hope you get better with the child. This things happen heh!

Mrs/Mr Journalist are you implying that the wheel made its way from bouncing back at the poor lady and child to the driver's seat? I think you cooked up stairs....it's impossible!
