"consideration is being given to revoke his parole"

Shouldn't that be automatic?
No wonder our cops are trigger happy or so demotivated that they don't even bother. The justice system is a joke. If they even get a decent sentence, they are out early anyhow.

So you kill an innocent person you get arrested you pretend to be a goodie goodie then you get parole coupled with some free skills and you out of jail cause the justice system claims you're somehow rehabilitated? Fck damnation no considering crap he shud be in jail doing full time.

Question: Lets assume really this criminals have this so called GOOD BEHAVIOUR, how do they end up in jail?

The best of our justice system... When the judge sentences u to life, it actually means 25 years, and with good behaviour you end up serving half of it, about 15 years or so... If rapists and murderers are sentenced to 15 years, with good behaviour you end up serving only 9... That's Mzansi for u, long as the sentence doesn't specify that "...without the possibility of a parole", every sentence means these muthaf#kcas spend only half their sentence, and come back to now rape our 94 year old gogos n kill u for your hard-earned living...

Why blame the justice system, this is the law. When the gov want to change the law you complain, when the same law screw you, you still complain. MommaC, we are not at that level yet, our systems cannot dictate that immediately, the court must revoke his parole & order him to serve the remainder of his previous sentences. The guy`s family must s u e the ministers of justice, correctional service and police for millions.

No. When the government wants to make the law a tool for their own use - I complain. I have always said that our laws should be overhauled but by those who KNOW the law - not a bunch of ignorant politicians with personal agendas

MommaC, politicians part of their job is to come up with these laws and we are allowed to participate to make these changes and when these laws are ready to be made official, politicians vote and the majority wins but the opposition keeps on going to court when they are democratically defitted hence the gov is now making it a law for the courts not to rule over parliament as it is the highest office of a country.

So our ignorant Std3 dropout president should be dictating the law to the judges who have studied the subject?

MommaC, don`t worry the "dropout" has no input on these issues, they are way above his std3 hence he has advisors who consult with others who have studied the subject, when they are done they explain to him in "dropout' language for him to understand and let him sign into law after it has been reviewed by all.

@maneater

It is not the govt that sentences people but the courts (independent judiciary). The judges are the ones with powers to rule as to whether a convict can be considered for parole or not. In some cases, judges spell it out clearly that the convict must serve 20, 30 or life without the option of being considered for parole.

Guys, if we really want true democracy, we must take the good together with the bad that comes with this system. I usually laugh at ignorant people who ask stupid questions like; what is the ANC doing about Malema's recent conduct? They stupidly forget that Malema is no longer a member of the ANC and there is nothing the ANC can do about him; or why is govt allowing Malema to speak rubish blah, blah, blah. If Malema is exercizing his right to freedom of speech, why should Zuma arbitrarily take such a right away, if Zuma does that, then he would be violating the same constitution he vowed to uphold.

What people should know is that demagogues like Malema understand the law and the constitution very well, hence he can even tell a lie that "Zuma is a dictator", knowing the truth that Zuma is not even close to becoming a dictator. In RSA, we cannot arrest you for calling the president a dictator, even when you are telling lies like Malema does everyday.

The law in this country is gooooooooooooooooooood.

I still say an extra slice of brown bread is good enough for good behaviour. One of the bloggers said that we need good behaviour in our society and if you dont behave well there then you belong in jail, we rewarding good behaviour in the wrong place.

Well his advisers aren't too clued up either. The ConCourt wouldn't have overturned so many of his decisions if his advisers had been better. Maybe its time we got someone with a bit of knowledge about the law to advise him?
