Man stable after being castrated by two thugs
A 38-YEAR-OLD father of two is recovering in a Pretoria hospital after thugs cut his genitals and left him bleeding profusely.
The Soshanguve man, whose identity is known to Sowetan, was on his way home after a drinking session with friends and neighbours on the evening of September 2 when he was attacked by two men.
The unemployed handyman, who survives by doing odd jobs for locals, was last seen by a friend, Madumetja Lesufi, shortly after 9pm on the day he was attacked.
Lesufi said they had been drinking sorghum beer at his place. He said he walked his inebriated friend home and left him in the passage leading to his house.
"I was surprised the following day to learn that he was attacked and seriously injured."
Rietgat police station spokesman in Soshanguve, Warrant Officer Lolo Mangena, said a case of attempted murder was being investigated, but no arrests had been made yet.
He said the victim was attacked by two men who cut his genitals and left him bleeding profusely.
The man is receiving treatment at Dr George Mukhari Hospital in GaRankuwa. Hospital spokesman Nolo Nkosi yesterday said the patient's condition was stable.
A relative said though his condition had improved and he could speak, he was not in a position to say exactly what had happened.
